Gary Robinson

With a primary focus on process and culture, Gary has an energetic and hands on approach to developing systems and teams to deliver a high standard of healthcare. In his spare time, apart from running and attempting vehicle restorations, Gary enjoys regular coaching sessions with his three children on current fashion, music and teen language trends!
Dr Brian McGirr
Chief Medical Officer
Born in Belfast, my Father’s work took us to Zambia when I was 5. We returned to Buckinghamshire in 1975 where I was educated at Aylesbury Grammar School and went on to study medicine at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School, graduating in 1987.
I founded DOCTORNOW 14 years ago, following a 15 year career in the NHS. My motivation and passion for starting DOCTORNOW is unchanged; I still believe the patient should be at the centre of everything we do and treated as an individual on their own merits.
Over the past 12 years, my colleague Richard Angwin and I have established a team of excellent clinicians who share our patient centred philosophies and between them have a wide range of specialisms.
My special medical interests are paediatrics; musculoskeletal and respiratory medicine and managing complex medical cases.
My wife, Jane, and I have 3 sons. I am a keen Wasps and Ireland rugby supporter; I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. I keep fit by walking the dog, who is always up for a walk whatever the weather!
Whilst I am no longer taking on new patients as my list is currently full, I am very proud of the medical team here. I am confident that, whichever of my GP colleagues you see, you will be extremely well looked after.
Dr Richard Angwin
GP/Director
I grew up on the Essex coast where I spent a lot of my time sailing!
I studied medicine at Saint Bartholomew’s Medical School, graduating in 1977. I then embarked on a surgical career, specialising in cardiothoracic surgery and becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons. In the late 1980s I decided to move into general practice and, following 2 years GP training, became a private GP in London working in both Notting Hill and at the London Wellman Clinic.
My special medical interests are cardiology and men’s health, including testosterone replacement treatment.
I began working with Brian McGirr at DOCTORNOW in 2005. We subsequently became business partners and over the last 12 years I have really enjoyed seeing the way DOCTORNOW has evolved and developed.
My wife Barbara and I have two grown up sons and two black Labradors – the latter helping to keep us fit! We both enjoy country pursuits, in particular clay pigeon shooting and long rambles.
Each member of our GP team was hand-picked by Brian and I, not only for their medical expertise but also for their caring and empathetic clinical approach. So, although I am unable to take on any new patients as my patient list is currently full, I can be sure that any of my GP colleagues will provide you with excellent care.
Dr Mia Murray
GP/Associate Director
Mia joined the practice after a 22 year career in the NHS, and brings a wealth of experience. While her special areas of interest include minor surgery and joint injections, her real passion is family planning and women’s health.
Born in the Midlands but raised in Cornwall, Mia loves the ocean and to run the coastal paths – a lifelong love affair with the elements.
A keen athlete, she takes part in road bike racing and triathlons – and is often seen running through Beaconsfield and the surrounding countryside with her black labrador Shadow.
Mia is married to Charlie, a gastroenterologist, and they have three children. Spare time is spent taking the children to their various activities, running in general, and enjoying the outdoors.
At home, she loves film and music, and to eat and drink with friends and family.
Dr Vikas Kapoor
GP/Associate Director
Vik qualified in 1998 and has been working as a GP in south Buckinghamshire for the past 15 years. Over this time he has gained a wide range of experience, with interests in musculoskeletal medicine, joint injections, dermatological surgery and mental health. He has also completed a Diploma in Occupational Medicine.
Vik was born and raised in High Wycombe and has remained in the area ever since. He really enjoys the variety in general practice and getting to know his patients, understanding and helping them however he can.
He is married to Sunita, also a GP, and has three lively boys. Outside of work, Vik coaches rugby and hockey, and enjoys snowboarding, scuba diving, and highly experimental cooking for family and friends!
Emily Boston
Head of Operations
Emily (Em) joined the practice in 2008 and has worked her way up the ranks from Receptionist, Senior Receptionist, Memberships Manager, Assistant Practice Manager and eventually to Operations Manager. Em has a thorough understanding of all aspects of the practice and thrives when there is an opportunity to lead on a project; this was particularly valuable during the Little Hall Barn building project. When she is not heads down and planning, Em enjoys keeping fit with the help of her dog Quinn and horse Vigor.
Nikki Fletcher
Head of Finance
Nikki has been involved with DOCTORNOW since its inception and joined the company in January 2011. During this time she has helped guide the company through system development and implementation in order to support business need. Nikki enjoys spending time with her family, caring for her menagerie of animals and walking in her local countryside in her spare time.
